VJH Foundation Introduces New Light a Bulb Elf with a Colouring Contest
It goes without saying that 2020 has been a year of change. As with so many things in the world and here in our community, the annual hospital fundraising initiative – Light a Bulb – has also changed.
Since 2003 Lars the elf has graced the covers of the VJH Foundation holiday campaign pieces. This year, it’s time to welcome a new elf to the team with a new look. Here he is to introduce himself:
Hello and Season’s Greetings!
This past year has been different than many of us planned! The same goes for elves.
Over the last 10 months, my good friend Lars the elf made the difficult decision to retire. After almost two decades of working with the VJH Foundation, he decided that it was time take a breath and focus on some of his favourite pastimes such as wrapping presents, drinking hot chocolate by the fire, and tennis (of all things!) As his dedicated apprentice for almost twenty years, he has passed on the reigns, and now I have the pleasure of working with the Foundation and wonderful donors throughout this great community.
Let me introduce myself! My name is also Lars – funny enough there are lots of us up in the North Pole.
I’m excited to help light some bulbs in support of healthcare excellence in the North Okanagan. And from what I’m told, this is something lots of people like to support. So thank you in advance!
Now that I have introduced myself, let’s have some fun! Use the colouring page found in today’s Morning Star or on the Foundation Website and get creative! Send it to my friends at the Foundation, and you could win a $50 gift card to a local store of your choice.
I’m excited to see your creations!
Lars
To celebrate the arrival of its new Lars, the VJH Foundation is inviting all kids (and kids at heart) to get out their favourite colouring tools, and have fun getting creative and colouring Lars the elf.
