The Gift of Excellence: Move4Mom
In 2021, Vernon local Oliver Stankiewicz organized a Mother’s Day run to honour his mom who had recently passed away. This virtual fundraiser was created to support the Vernon Jubilee Hospital’s McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre where his mother had been treated as part of her care. It wasn’t long before he had the immense support of the community behind him, raising more than $30,000 for the centre.
