Light a Bulb Campaign Needs $83,000 to Meet Goal!
Coldstream Mayor Jim Garlick, Dr. Mike Concannon and Vernon-Monashee MLA Eric Foster took part in a Tower of Care tour conducted in October 2014 by Howard Benson of Stuart Olson.
With less than two weeks until Christmas, Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation still needs to raise $83,000 to meet its $250,000 goal for Light a Bulb.“VJH Foundation is very appreciative of the many generous donations we have received for Light a Bulb,” said Campaign Co-Chair Richard Finn. “For those in the community who have been considering giving to Light a Bulb, we want you to know we really need your help to bring improved health care to the North Okanagan.”Campaign donations to Light a Bulb include $13,000 from Silver Star Mountain Resort, as well as donations from Trinity Creek Ranch, the Pythian Sisters Vernon Temple #21 and Rad Energy Electric. All Light a Bulb proceeds will be supporting Tower of Care, to furnish and equip the 6th and 7th floors of Polson Tower by next year. The new model of private and semi-private room care integrated into the top floors is designed to decrease hospital-acquired infections, shorten length of stay and decrease the need for pain medication. An improved therapeutic environment will provide patients with greater confidentiality, a family zone and nursing zone in every room and decreased noise levels.“The medical and support staff at VJH are committed to providing excellent patient care and best outcomes,” says Finn. “Completing construction and equipping the top floors will increase capacity and bring more modern standards of care to VJH.”Please help the VJH Foundation light the tree a top the hospital and let the spirit of generosity shine this holiday season.
