TELUS Day of Giving

Telus is celebrating 10 years of making a difference in communities across Canada through its TELUS Day of Giving program.  This year, Vernon Jubilee Hospital was fortunate to be selected as a TELUS partner to upgrade the outdoor space for patients in the Psychiatry department.TELUS volunteers provided labour, while VJH Foundation provided funding for supplies.  The project, which took place May 30, included painting the gazebo and window frames, as well as planting a vegetable garden and filling flower pots for the patients to maintain.  Privacy fencing will be installed for our patients on 3 North in their outside space, to make it more private and inviting for them to enjoy.Melanie Collins Telus Manager, Customer Solutions Delivery, explained the concept of "We give where we live" to VJH Volunteer Services (Terryl Lafortune Coordinator Volunteer Services, and Carolynn Russell Manager of Volunteer Services)."TELUS is committed to improving communities, with a strong emphasis on healthcare, education and the environment by partnering and sponsoring with community groups to make a positive difference where we live and work."Our sincere thanks to:The VJH Foundation—Black and McDonald—D.S. Gardens—Vernon Home Building Centre Home Hardware—Vernon Square Safeway—and all the TELUS Volunteers.
