Take a Sneak Peek at the New Top Floors in Polson Tower
Due to the generosity of the North Okanagan community and beyond, the Building a Tower of Care Campaign, Phase II has been a great success, surpassing its goal of $2.5 million in less than two years. The Campaign was launched in November 2013, to raise funds to equip and furnish the top two floors of Polson Tower to alleviate capacity issues at VJH. Four semi-private and 22 single-bed rooms per floor will help promote improved patient experience by providing access to light and views, decreased noise levels, a family and nursing zone in every room, and improved infection control features.***The Collaboration Station is designed as a hub for the health care team. Doctors, nurses and health care staff working in proximity help ensure improved communication and collaboration to enhance patient care.*** Each floor will be furnished with state-of-the-art health care equipment including the Parker Tub. This $25,000 tub features adjustable height, recline, and self-cleaning which allows a patient to be cared for by a single caregiver, ensuring patient comfort while maximizing staff resources.
