SUN FM Have a Heart Radiothon Raises a Record $93,602
Sun FM's 15th annual “Have a Heart Radiothon” set a new record raising $93,602 in 12 hours!From 6 am to 6 pm on April 26th, Brian Martin and Betty Selin broadcasted live from Village Green Centre, while individuals, businesses and community groups rose to the challenge, donating funds and event proceeds to support our kids at VJH.“We would like to thank everyone who generously contributed to the SUN FM Have a Heart Radiothon,” said Marg Bailey, VJH Foundation President.From those who gave donations and gift incentives, to the volunteers who answered phones and collected donations throughout the day, to the families who shared their stories of the help received at VJH, you made it happen.”Funds raised will create the first ever dedicated Pediatric Oncology Treatment Room, located in the Cancer Centre, at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. This dedicated room will support children (and their families) undergoing chemotherapy treatment at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.Since 2004, Sun FM Have a Heart Radiothon has raised over $767,000 for kids at VJH.“The dedication and support from Brian Martin, Betty Selin and the amazing team at Sun FM continues to help make health care better for kids and families in the North Okanagan,” said Bailey.
