Shoppers LOVE.YOU. Campaign Benefits McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre
Three local Shoppers Drug Mart locations in theNorth Okanagan joined together with our community to raise more than $8,800 to supportwomen’s cancer care at the McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre at Vernon JubileeHospital.
The annual Shoppers LOVE. YOU. Campaign sees associate ownerspartner with local charities to directly support women ‘s health in theircommunities. From October 5th to November 1st localresidents made the Growing Women’s Health Tree come to life in participatingstores. Together, they raised $8,854 bypurchasing and personalizing special icons, which were prominently displayed onthe Trees. Customer purchases included a ‘leaf’ for a loonie, a ‘butterfly’ for$5, an ‘apple’ for $10 or a ‘bird’ for $50.

Each year, our customers and staff demonstratetheir generosity and their commitment to supporting women in our community, andwe couldn’t be more proud of everyone’s contribution,” said Chase Nickel, pharmacistowner at store 2299 on Highway 6. The McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre plays animportant role in our community and the proceeds from this year’s campaign willgo a long way to helping them further their work.”

Since 2002, the Growing Women’s Health campaignhas raised more than $35 million for Canadian health charities, with 100 percent of funds staying in the community where they are raised.
