Shoppers Drug Mart's Tree of Life Campaign Benefits McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre

Thank you to local Shoppers Drug Mart stores for their generous donation of $7,568 to the McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre! Funds were raised through the annual Tree of Life campaign taking place in September and October at all three Vernon Shoppers locations.

“The Tree of Life campaign focuses mainly on women’s health,” says Cassandra Elstak-Blackwell, Pharmacist/Owner of the Vernon Plaza location. “We look at women as the centre of the family and if we can keep women healthy, we are keeping all Canadians healthy.”

Tree of Life takes place in communities throughout Canada, with each store choosing a local organization to support. The three Shoppers locations in Vernon have been supporting the McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre at VJH, with 100% of proceeds staying locally. The 2014 campaign took place September 20 to October 17, with the sale of paper leaves and birds that are displayed in-store, as well as having local businesses contribute to the campaign.
