Local Subway shows ongoing support for the health of our community

Vernon Subway restaurants show their support for VernonJubilee Hospital Foundation year after year. This January, they have given$5,000 to VJH Foundation’s campaign, OPERATION: Surgical Care for Life.

Local Subway co-owners Gurjit Jhajj and Raj Jaswal have beenlong term donors to the foundation and recognize the importance of improvinghealthcare in the North Okanagan. They have donated over $72,000 since 2004 tomany VJH Foundation initiatives.

“We have family members who have needed to use the hospital.Everyone will need the hospital at some point in their lives and that is why wecontinue to support the VJH Foundation,” says Raj Jaswall.

“We are grateful for Subway’s ongoing support of ourfoundation,” says Lisa Westermark, Executive Director, Vernon Jubilee HospitalFoundation. “Gurjit and Raj are kind and genuine people who share a commitmentto the community. They are joyful in giving back. It is very special.”

OPERATION:Surgical Care for Life is raising $3.6 million to equip an additional operatingroom, purchase six anaesthetic machines, and a new urology table with real-timeimaging. The campaign will give VJH surgeons the ability to perform more surgeries,ultimately reducing wait times and improving patient outcomes so our loved onescan get on the road to recovery much sooner.
