Community Support Shines Bright During Light a Bulb
As 2024 comes to a close and we pass the mid-way point in our annual holiday Light A Bulb fundraiser, the VJH Foundation wishes everyone in our community a safe, healthy and happy holiday season.
Your generosity throughout the year has helped light the way to better healthcare for friends, families and neighbours across the North Okanagan.
Community support for Light A Bulb and our goal of building a new and expanded Ultrasound department has been incredible.
See below for just a few of our wonderful community partners who have contributed to this year’s Light a Bulb.
We are so grateful to the Armstrong Spallumcheen Healthcare Auxiliary (ASHA) for their incredible generosity! This year, ASHA has donated an amazing $146,500 to support enhancing health care excellence in our community, including $33,200 towards Light A Bulb.
Behind this remarkable contribution is the heart of their organization - 60 dedicated volunteers who have given over 15,700 hours of their time this year, running the beloved Bargain Bin thrift store in Armstrong. These volunteers work tirelessly, sorting, pricing, and selling donated items to help fund initiatives that improve healthcare for all of us.
Thank you, ASHA, for being such an inspiring example of community spirit and generosity!
A huge thank you to the Vernon Firefighters Charitable Society @vernonfirefighters for stopping by on #GivingTuesday to support the VJH Foundation and our efforts to expand the Ultrasound department at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
We’re so grateful for your generosity and for helping us make a difference. Together, we’re lighting the way to better healthcare!

A heartfelt thank you to the Desert Cove Homeowners Association for their incredible support of Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation's Light A Bulb campaign! This amazing group donated $8,000 on #GivingTuesday, helping us work towards expanding medical imaging services at VJH.
The funds were raised through their incredible bottle recycling program - a year-round effort led by dedicated members like Bill Versluis, Mike Hovde, and Chris Meisner, who sort and deliver bottles for refunds. This initiative has raised over $43,000 since 1996!
