Smile Cookie campaign raises more than $18,000 for Vernon Jubilee Hospital
The annual Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign raised an amazing $18,774 through local cookie sales for the Vernon Jubilee Hospital this year.
Smile cookies, the chocolate chunk cookies decorated with blue eyes and an iconic pink smile were on sale from September 16-22, 2019. Through the national campaign, customers could purchase the delicious cookies for only $1 plus applicable taxes, with the full proceeds going to local charities.
“We were blown away by the success of this year’s Smile Cookie campaign. We are tremendously proud of how our team members and guests came together to raise funds for healthcare in our community,” stated Danica Currie, Operations Manager, Tim Hortons Vernon. “My parents Dan and Jamie Currie, local Tim Hortons owner-operators, have donated the proceeds from the Smile Cookie campaign to the Foundation for over ten years, and we are proud to do so again.”
“We are grateful to once again be the recipient of this generous donation from Tim Hortons and local owners Dan and Jamie Currie,” said Kate McBrearty, VJH Foundation Executive Director. “Their long-time support means so much to us. We are very grateful for their generosity.”
Tim Hortons has been supporting local communities through the Smile Cookie program since 1996. The program originally began in Ontario in 1996 and has since expanded across Canada helping a variety of children’s charities, hospitals and community programs.
