SilverStar Emergency Services Day Raises $12,500
SilverStar Mountain Resort’s 3rd Annual Emergency Services Day fundraiser for Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation was once again a great success, raising $12,500 for the hospital’s Emergency Department on Saturday, February 17 .
Funds were raised through SilverStar’s donation of $20 from every lift ticket sold on the day of the event. Since 2013, SilverStar’s event initiatives have raised $78,700 for the Foundation.
“We are grateful for the on-going support that Silver Star Mountain Resort extends to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation. Emergency Services Day was a tremendous success and the $12,500 raised will provide much needed medical equipment for our Emergency Department,” said Andrea Egan, Development Officer for VJH Foundation.
Emergency Service Day crowds gathered at the mountain to watch exciting demonstrations from nine local emergency services teams taking place through the day. From a heli-winch rescue to avalanche search techniques, teams demonstrated the skills and equipment brought into action to assist those in need.
