Local Subway shows ongoing support for the health of our community
Vernon Subway restaurants show their support for Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation year after year. This January, they have given $5,000 to VJH Foundation’s campaign, OPERATION: Surgical Care for Life.
Local Subway co-owners Gurjit Jhajj and Raj Jaswal have been long term donors to the foundation and recognize the importance of improving healthcare in the North Okanagan. They have donated over $72,000 since 2004 to many VJH Foundation initiatives.
“We have family members who have needed to use the hospital. Everyone will need the hospital at some point in their lives and that is why we continue to support the VJH Foundation,” says Raj Jaswall.
“We are grateful for Subway’s ongoing support of our foundation,” says Lisa Westermark, Executive Director, Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation. “Gurjit and Raj are kind and genuine people who share a commitment to the community. They are joyful in giving back. It is very special.”
OPERATION: Surgical Care for Life is raising $3.6 million to equip an additional operating room, purchase six anaesthetic machines, and a new urology table with real-time imaging. The campaign will give VJH surgeons the ability to perform more surgeries, ultimately reducing wait times and improving patient outcomes so our loved ones can get on the road to recovery much sooner.
We need your help to reach our goal! Your gift stays local and gets put to work right here in the North Okanagan.
