Light a Bulb Exceeds Goal!
VJH Foundation Director of Development Sue Beaudry thanks donors for their generous support!
It took a few extra days, but the VJH Foundation Light a Bulb Campaign not only reached its $250,000 goal, but surpassed it, bringing in $252,168.
“We remained optimistic and just kept working at it,” says Richard Finn, Campaign Co-Chair. “People in the North Okanagan know how to take care of each other. It really showed when we reached out for help and donations came in.”
Businesses, individuals and organizations contributed to the Campaign in amounts of $10 to $25,000.
“Every donation we received was important in making this happen. We want to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to Light a Bulb for better health care in the North Okanagan,” says Finn.
All funds raised from Light a Bulb will be designated to the Tower of Care Campaign to furnish and equip the 6th and 7th floors of Polson Tower at VJH.
“This is very encouraging,” says Co-Chair Dr. Chris Cunningham. “More than 9,600 patients were admitted to beds in VJH in 2013-14. “We need more rooms, more beds and life-saving equipment. The support from Light a Bulb brings us closer to achieving our $2.5 million goal for Tower of Care.”
The VJH Foundation offers its deepest appreciation to all of the individuals, businesses and organizations that generously supported the 27th annual Light a Bulb Campaign.
