Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation (VJHF) is committed to inspiring donors and building meaningful relationships to support VJHF and our community’s health care needs, both now and into the future.

The Foundation is in the early stages of a capital campaign for the Hospital. It is anticipated that we will embark on back-to-back campaigns in the coming years, to meet the growing needs of our North Okanagan population. This is a dual position, ideal for an energetic, self-motivated, highly-organized and results oriented individual working within our dynamic and donor-centered team.

Under the co-direction of the Executive Director and the Development Manager, the Development & Campaign Coordinator plays a key strategic role in developing, promoting, implement and growing our mid-level and major gift programs. The Coordinator is responsible for the all aspects of administration for our campaign supporting cabinet volunteers and as an integral member of the Campaign Resource Team (CRT). The Coordinator will also be responsible for identifying, soliciting and stewarding donors and prospects.

Primary Responsibilities:

Campaign administration
 Provides administrative support to the Executive Director and other members of the Campaign Resource Team
 Helps identify, coach and mentor campaign volunteers , as well as assign prospects for cultivation
 Coordinates and prepares donor correspondence (ex. pledge reminders, thank you letters, etc.)
 Performs regular data entry and updates in the donor database. A high level of proficiency and ability to use our fundraising database is required to generate reports
 Creates contact reports and ensure the accuracy of the database donor records (ex. address, gift amount, relationship, etc.) as well as hard/electronic donor records
 Supports the Campaign Resource Team with various tasks (correspondence, organizing/coordinating logistics of meetings/events and other administrative tasks)
 Ensures the team is kept up-to-date, is advised of, and prepared for all appointments and donor/ prospect obligations
 Provides superior customer service to donors, volunteers and VJHF staff in person and by phone, as well as when greeting guests or assisting with general enquiries
 Develops comprehensive strategies for soliciting and securing gifts from individual, groups, foundations and corporate sources, eventually managing a portfolio of mid-level and major giving prospects
 Actively identifies and cultivates relationships with prospects and donors, through one-on-one introductions and participation in social events
 Writes correspondence and gift proposals to assigned prospects
 Provides regular status reports on all matters of interest related to major and campaign gifts
 Supports grant applications as required
 Remains familiar with key industry trends, and maintains knowledge of emerging strategies through a commitment to professional development and continuous learning
 Develops and/or supports new programs as a key member of a small team
 Performs other duties as assigned


Post-secondary graduate who shows incredible potential, demonstrates enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Preference given to several years’ experience in an office environment supporting multiple people. Experience in the fund development and the charitable or non-profit sector is ideal.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key constituent relationships (individual and corporate donors, Foundations, healthcare administration, senior-level volunteers, etc.) with proven ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion.
 Superior administrative skills and knowledge of administrative protocols, office procedures and practices to provide daily professional administrative assistance to the Campaign Resource Team
 Strong track record in supporting or managing the donor stewardship cycle (identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship)
 Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
 Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and build long-term relationships with donors
 Excellent attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
 Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, fundraising database base experience preferred
 Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration, Fund Development, Marketing or equivalent
 3-5 years’ experience is preferred, CFRE is an asset
Operational Requirements
 Occasional ability to work evenings, early morning and weekends
 Ability to lift and carry event and meeting materials as required (up to 20 lbs)
