The event, held July 27 at Predator Ridge Resort, raised an outstanding $66,500 for cancer detection and treatment for Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
“We’re very grateful to the community of Vernon and to all those who have donated, volunteered and been a part of this event for the last 16 years,” says Stacey Donison, Chairperson of Wine, Women & Woods. “It’s been a community effort. We certainly couldn’t have done it without the support of the very generous community here in Vernon, as well as Predator Ridge Resort.”
Event founder, Cheryl Kaminsky, hosted the first ever Wine Women & Woods – Tee off for the cure in 2003 with the intention of starting a women’s only charity event. Prior to this event there were no women-only charity events of its kind in the Vernon area.
“The support from Wine, Woman & Woods has been incredible for women’s health and the Vernon Jubilee Hospital over the years. The women involved with this event are an exceptional group who love rolling up their sleeves and giving back to their community,” says Lisa Westermark, Executive Director VJH Foundation. “We’re certainly excited to continue working with these fabulous women in different ways over the years to come.”
