Many thanks to Army, Navy, Air Force Vets Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Pythian Sisters Temple #21 for their donations of $500 to the McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre. The McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre opened in in 1998, heralding a new era of cancer care at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Shoppers Drug Mart (Polson Place Mall) staff and customers raised $3933 for the McMurtry Baerg Cancer Centre with the Shoppers Tree of Life Campaign this past fall. Their generosity and community spirit will help bring better health care for cancer patients in the North Okanagan.
The McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre Patient Comfort fund got a much-needed boost from the great people at Watkin Motors Ford. Their 25th Anniversary promotion in September raised $3,000 to support local cancer patients and their families.
