12th Annual Radiothon Ready to Benefit Women’s & Children’s Health Services at Vernon Jubilee Hospital
On Thursday April 30, 105.7 Sun FM Radio invites the community to be part of its annual Radiothon at the Village Green Centre in support of Women’s and Children’s Health Services at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
Please join Brian Martin and Betty Selin as they broadcast live on location from the main entrance of the mall, 6 am to 6 pm. Their goal is to raise funds for equipment at the VJH Women’s & Children’s Health Services Department.
In support of the Radiothon, Sun FM is auctioning off a LIVE broadcast with the Sunrise Morning Show, from your place of business, or a North Okanagan location of your choice. The Morning Show will broadcast live from 6 am to 9 am on any weekday, subject to availability. The auction opens April 22 and closes April 30 at 5pm. Call Sun FM at 250-545-9222 to make your bid!
Radiothon morning “kicks off” with a drive thru coffee, by donation, at Starbucks, Village Green Centre location from 6:30 am to 9 am. On your way to work pick up coffee for your staff and colleagues while supporting a worthy cause.
Radio personality April Lyn will be at Askew’s Foods in Armstrong 2 pm to 5 pm. Volunteers will be available to take your donations. Bring your children to Askew’s for some fun as Bounce Hire will be set up and admission is by donation!
Clarence Fulton Secondary School students will be holding the 5th annual “Breakfast Bags for Babies” on April 30 from 6:30 to 9 am. All proceeds will be donated to the Radiothon in support of VJH Foundation. Be on the look-out for enthusiastic Fulton students on Okanagan Landing Road, across from Ellison school. They have prepared a limited number of breakfast bags for sale by donation and will also be accepting Radiothon donations! The bags will be filled with goodies; fruit, yogurt, granola bars, juice boxes, discount coupons and free vouchers. Every breakfast item has been donated by generous, local businesses!
Regardless of the size, all donations and challenges will be acknowledged on-air during the Radiothon. There will be an opportunity for you to challenge others in our community or to share your birth stories and acknowledge the exceptional care received at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
“I’m so proud to be part of the Sun FM’s Have a Heart Radiothon. This is a very special event where families come and share their stories; children see their parents giving back to the community which creates this amazing cycle of giving. Radiothon is just one more reason I love living in the North Okanagan,” said Betty Selin, co-host Sun FM Sunrise Show and Radiothon co- host.
Donations may be dropped off in person at the main door of the Village Green Centre (6 am to 6 pm), at Askew’s Foods in Armstrong (2 pm to 5 pm) or pledged by Visa or MasterCard by calling 250-549-1057.
